Privacy Policy
How we handle your information.
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Riney Electric ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at rineyelectric.com. This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website or contact us for services.
Information We Collect
When you contact us through our website, we collect the information you provide:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Street address (if provided for service estimates)
- Project details and messages you submit through our contact form
We also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data may be collected through standard web server logs and security controls used to protect the website and contact forms.
How your IP address is used: When you submit the contact form, your IP address is forwarded to Cloudflare Turnstile for bot verification (this helps us reject automated form spam). Cloudflare's edge logs also capture your IP address along with request metadata (RayID, host, URL, timestamp) for the operational retention window set on the active Cloudflare logpush configuration. After lead processing, the lead record itself stores only a one-way hash of your IP, not the raw address.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiry or estimate request
- Provide electrical services you've requested
- Communicate with you about your project
- Schedule appointments and service visits
- Improve our website and services
- Comply with legal obligations
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- We do not share your information with third parties except as needed to provide our services (e.g., permit applications)
- We do not send marketing emails unless you have specifically requested them
- We do not use your information for automated decision-making
Cookies and Site Functionality
This website may use essential cookies and related browser storage for core functionality, security, and spam prevention. We currently do not run third-party behavioral analytics or advertising trackers on the website.
The cookie banner lets you accept analytics cookies or keep essential-only mode before analytics scripts and first-party event measurement run. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features on our website.
Cookie Inventory
The table below lists the cookies and browser storage items this site may set, their purpose, and whether they require your consent.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| riney:cookie-consent | Essential | Stores your cookie consent preference (localStorage) | No |
| cf_clearance | Essential | Cloudflare bot challenge verification | No |
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot and abuse prevention for website forms
- Resend — transactional email delivery for contact form notifications
- Google Maps — embedded maps showing our service area and location
These services have their own privacy policies governing how they collect and use data.
Third-Party Processors
We use the service providers below as data processors under GDPR Article 28 and equivalent UK/EU obligations. For EU and UK visitors, transfers to providers in non-adequacy countries rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA).
| Processor | Purpose | Country | Transfer mechanism | DPA / privacy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | CDN, DNS, bot challenge, edge runtime, web analytics | United States | SCCs; UK IDTA | DPA · Privacy |
| Sanity | Content management for site pages, images, editorial | United States (with EU region option) | SCCs; UK IDTA | DPA · Privacy |
| Sentry | Error monitoring; events may include request details, device/browser info, URLs, timestamps | United States | SCCs; UK IDTA | DPA · Privacy |
| Resend | Transactional email (contact form + onboarding) | United States | SCCs; UK IDTA | DPA · Privacy |
We sign Data Processing Agreements with each processor before they handle personal data routed through our services. The processor list is reviewed at least annually and on each new processor onboarding.
Data Retention
Contact submissions and lead details are kept while we respond to the request, schedule or complete the work, and maintain routine project records. Cloudflare analytics and session metrics are used for website operations and retained according to the active Cloudflare analytics configuration. Sentry error events are kept only for troubleshooting and expire according to the active Sentry project retention window. If you'd like us to review information tied to a submission, contact us at the address below.
When you ask us to stop contacting you, we record an opt-out suppression entry so that no further outbound email is sent to your address. This stops future contact; it does not by itself erase records already held for an open request or routine project files. You can start a data-access or erasure request through our verified data-request intake or by contacting us at the address below. We send an email verification challenge before acting on a request, then process the verified request manually against the systems listed in this policy. Full automated erasure across every processor is still being built; where a provider does not yet support automated deletion, we document the residual data, retention window, and manual action taken.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
